Sustainability
We design our acoustic furniture to last for years, and we make it close to home. Design, assembly and upholstery take place at our own factory in Lahti, Finland, and all our component manufacturers are located within 50 kilometres.
Made close to home
We source our raw materials from established European manufacturers, and partners turn them into the components of our products – all of them located within 50 kilometres of our factory in Lahti. Assembly, upholstery and finishing are done at our own factory, which is also where our products are shipped from.
Short distances mean less transport during production. We know every manufacturer personally and can follow quality every step of the way.
Designed to last
We have been designing and making furniture for 33 years, and acoustic furniture since 2002, when the first sshhh 5 went on sale. Longevity is the starting point for every product: structures, materials and upholstery are chosen so that the product stays in service for years.

- Reupholstery – a worn or dated product can be reupholstered, so there is no need for a new one.
- Spare parts – we supply spare parts to replace broken ones.
- Easy to dismantle – a professional can dismantle and reassemble our products relatively easily, for example when moving or fitting out a new space.
Materials

- Upholstery fabrics – Gabriel Focus, Europost 2, Focus Melange and Step Melange. The fabrics carry the EU Ecolabel and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, and they meet the requirements of the Möbelfakta label.
- Plywood – UPM Plywood, the manufacturer of the WISA® plywood we use, holds FSC® and PEFC™ certificates for tracing the origin of the wood. A third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration has been published for the plywood (EPD, International EPD System, EPD-IES-0010542).
- Acoustic foam – 90% recycled PU foam.
- Glass – AGC glass contains 11.2% recycled glass.
- sshhh 5 chair base – almost 100% recycled aluminium.
Delivery
We pack our products at our own factory. Our packaging materials – corrugated cardboard and packaging plastics – also come from suppliers in Lahti. Corrugated cardboard is recyclable.
Almost all our shipments travel by truck, and on the way to the rest of Europe the trucks cross the Baltic Sea by ship.
For public procurement
We have a product-specific materials table showing component weights, recycled content and supplier certificates. We will send it on request – Contact us.
